It is with great pride that we announce that BFSA's own Ambassador Harriet Elam-Thomas will be honored with the Global Award at the Eighth Onyx Awards for her outstanding work in diplomacy service. With 42 years of an amazing international career that included assignments in Belgium, Greece, Turkey, and most recently The Republic of Senegal, Ambassador Elam-Thomas has demonstrated that excellence is a way of life.
The late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. often eloquently noted, "But recognize that he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. That's a new definition of greatness. And this morning, the thing that I like about it, by giving that definition of greatness, it means that everybody can be great, because everybody can serve." Because of her commitment to service, Ambassador Elam-Thomas exemplifies greatness within all of her endeavors. We salute Ambassador Elam-Thomas for her accomplishments and thank her for her awesome leadership at the University of Central Florida.
